Previously on My Little Pony...
The defeat of Discord happened without warning. Yet Twilight knew it was very real. Her studies and friendship were true, and her friends from Ponyville were supportive of that. And so she was rewarded her alicorn wings, something beautiful yet empowering. Control over those things was a challenge in itself. And so we begin the story...
Twilight walked to Sugarcube Corner. She needed an extra special order of cupcakes for the Filly Fun Fair at the school. The schoolhouse decided the theme was to be princesses, so Twilight decided to plan to show her face.
"Hi, Pinkie Pie. A box of princess topped cupcakes, please." Twilight said, opening the door to Sugarcube Corner.
"Already made and ready to go." Pinkie said, giving Twilight a box of cupcakes.
"Thanks, Pinkie." Twilight said, flying off with the cupcakes.
Twilight arrived at the schoolhouse. A big party was going on outside. There were balloons, a picnic blanket, and a huge banner that said 'Welcome Princess Twilight'. Twilight smiled. She knew her planning and wisdom payed off when it came to special events. And children's events were especially fun, because the freedom of the fillies and colts made it easy to, um, can I say something quote and quote? Fine I will. It made it easy to GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!! :D.
"Hello everypony!" Twilight said, waving at the little ponies.
"Yay! It's really Princess Twilight!" A filly with a yellow coat and orange mane shrieked, pinching herself as if she thought she were dreaming.
Twilight giggled. Ever since the defeat of Discord, fillies and colts always looked up to her as a protector. Which was a good thing. Better than a bad kinda thing, right?
"I brought some special cupcakes for you guys." Twilight said, putting the cupcake box on the picnic table.
"Yummy!" A foal said.
Twilight smiled, then spread her wings, ready to fly. No, she wasn't leaving. She was going to put on a special show to impress the young children. Twilight used her powers to make it night time, to make the show extra special. She dimmed the sun slowly, so that the children could look away from their food and cake to pay attention to the show. Twilight used her horn to light up only herself, and nothing else.
"Greetings, everypony, to the Filly Fun Fair! To celebrate another generation of schooling, I will put on a special show for you!" Twilight said, turning her voice into a speaker, to make sure everypony heard.
"Hooray!" All the children said at once.
Twilight took flight in the sky, a stream of pink and purple flying behind her. She threw down special glitter that sparkled like tiny stars onto the audience, then finished off the show with a special magical rainbow. The crowd below cheered as Twilight landed. Twilight smiled. At least everything was okay in Equestria now... for now.
